FAQs

What is Assistance with Social and Community Access under the NDIS?

Assistance with Social and Community Access is an NDIS-funded core support that helps participants engage in social activities, community events, recreational programs, and civic life. It covers support for attending outings, joining community groups, volunteering, accessing education, and building independence. Bharosa Community Services provides this support to NDIS participants across Australia.

Who is eligible for Social and Community Access support?

This support is available to NDIS participants of all ages who require assistance to participate in community and social activities. You may be eligible if you want to build social connections, need transport assistance to attend events or appointments, want to develop independence and life skills, or wish to engage in cultural, recreational, educational, or employment activities.

What activities does Bharosa support under this service?

Bharosa’s support workers can assist you with a wide range of activities, including attending community events and social gatherings, joining arts, sports, and music programs, volunteering and civic participation, visiting friends and family, accessing educational and employment opportunities, going on recreational outings, and engaging in cultural or religious activities.

How is Social and Community Access funded in my NDIS plan?

Assistance with Social and Community Access is funded under the Core Supports budget in your NDIS plan, specifically under the “Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation” support category. All our support workers are trained, compassionate professionals who respect your choices, autonomy, and individual goals.
