Our Accomodation Offerings
Short-term Accomodation (STA)
Short-Term Accommodation (STA) is a support funded through your NDIS plan, allowing you to stay temporarily away from your regular home for up to 28 days per year. This accommodation can be in a variety of settings, such as respite care facilities, accessible holiday rentals, or even hotels, depending on your needs. STA provides the flexibility to enjoy a change of environment while receiving the necessary support for recovery, respite, or skill-building, ensuring you have the care and independence required during this period.
Medium-term Accomodation (MTA)
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) is a support funded through your NDIS plan, providing the opportunity to stay temporarily away from your usual home for up to 90 days per year. This accommodation is commonly used when your permanent housing is being built or modified, offering a safe and supportive environment while you await long-term housing. MTA can also be ideal when you need a stable place to stay during recovery or while transitioning between care options. It ensures you have the right support and flexibility while maintaining your independence during this period of change.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Whats the difference between STA and MTA?
Length of Stay: STA allows for stays of up to 28 days, while MTA extends up to 90 days. Participants have the flexibility to use their allocated days all at once or spread them across multiple stays, depending on their needs.
Purpose of Stay: STA offers greater flexibility and can be used for various reasons, such as respite care or exploring different living arrangements. On the other hand, MTA is primarily intended for individuals who need temporary accommodation while awaiting their long-term housing solution. For example, someone discharged from the hospital may require MTA if their permanent home is undergoing necessary modifications before they can return.
Accommodation Type: Both STA and MTA provide similar living environments, including accessible and supported accommodations. However, MTA may also extend to rental properties and specialized supported living settings, ensuring a stable transition to permanent housing.
Can I extend my stay if needed?
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA):
MTA is generally limited to a maximum of 90 days, as it serves as a temporary housing option while you transition to a permanent living arrangement. However, if unexpected circumstances arise that require you to stay longer, you may apply for an extension through the NDIS. To support your request, you will need to provide relevant documentation explaining the reason for the extension and how it affects your transition to long-term accommodation.Short-Term Accommodation (STA):
STA is designed for stays of up to 28 days, making it ideal for respite care or short-term support needs. While extensions beyond the 28-day limit are not typically available, you do have flexibility in how you use your allocated STA funding. You can either use all your days in one continuous stay or break them up into multiple shorter visits, depending on your individual requirements.
Can I Bring My Own Support Worker for STA or MTA?
For personal care and essential daily support, our qualified disability support workers will assist you. This is due to insurance requirements, ensuring that we maintain the highest level of care and adhere to all safety regulations.
However, when it comes to non-personal care services—such as community access, social outings, or household tasks—you have more flexibility. You are welcome to bring a familiar support worker, provided they are qualified and registered to deliver the specific services you require.
We understand that individual preferences vary, and we’re happy to discuss your specific needs to help you find the best support options during your stay. Let’s work together to create a comfortable and supportive experience for you!
How Far in Advance Should I Book My STA/MTA Stay?
We recommend booking your Short-Term Accommodation (STA) or Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) as early as possible to ensure availability and secure the accommodation type and support services that best meet your needs.
However, we understand that unexpected situations can arise. In urgent cases, we will do our best to accommodate last-minute or emergency bookings, subject to availability. If you require immediate support, please contact us as soon as possible, and our team will assist in finding a suitable solution for you.

If you require a longer-term housing solution after your Short-Term or Medium-Term Accommodation stay, we’re here to help. Depending on your NDIS funding and individual needs, we can assist you in exploring suitable options, such as Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
Our team will work closely with you to identify the best housing solution, provide guidance on funding options, and support you through the transition process to ensure a smooth and stress-free move into your next home.
Are Meals Provided During My STA or MTA Stay?
Short-Term Accommodation (STA):
Yes! Meals are typically included as part of STA funding under the NDIS. Since STA is designed as a comprehensive support package, it covers accommodation, personal care, and meals to ensure a hassle-free stay.Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA):
No, meals are generally not included in MTA funding under the NDIS. MTA funding is specifically allocated for accommodation costs, so you will need to arrange and budget for your own meals. However, depending on your NDIS plan, you may be able to access additional funding to support meal preparation or food-related services.
